AI Center at RWTH Aachen
The AI Center at RWTH Aachen University coordinates and connects AI research activities across the university and sets the strategic AI roadmap. With over 100 members from all faculties, it drives interdisciplinary collaboration and has established RWTH Aachen as one of Germany’s leading universities in AI, with high global visibility.
The close integration of scientific disciplines and application domains at the AI Center drives methodological innovation while enabling practical insights to continuously inform and advance fundamental research.
Role within JAIF
The AI Center at RWTH Aachen University makes key contributions to JAIF in a broad range of foundational and applied areas of AI, including knowledge graphs and large language models (LLMs), time-series foundation models for dynamic systems, in-context learning, synthetic data generation and comprehensive world models, robustness and automated performance optimisation of AI methods, as well as large-scale vision and multimodal models, specialised image analysis solutions, and process-mining-oriented foundation models. We place strong emphasis on safe, dependable, and sustainable AI, ensuring reliability and transparency across all applications. While our primary focus lies in manufacturing, healthcare, engineering systems, and the energy sector, we also extend these capabilities to a wide variety of other domains.
