New Survey on AI-Services: JAIF and hessian.AI Identify the Needs of Europe’s Startups

Europe is creating new opportunities for AI innovation by bringing together advanced computing infrastructure, expertise and a strong research and innovation ecosystem. The JUPITER AI Factory (JAIF) is part of this ambition, helping make Europe’s cutting-edge computing capabilities accessible and valuable to startups, SMEs, researchers and other innovators.

The JAIF consortium, consisting of the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC), RWTH Aachen University, Fraunhofer FIT, Fraunhofer IAIS and hessian.AI, draws on complementary expertise in high-performance computing and artificial intelligence. To make sure its services respond to real-world needs, JAIF is listening directly to the companies they are designed to support. Together with hessian.AI, JAIF has launched a survey for AI startups in Germany and across the European Union. The survey looks at how startups use computing resources today, what they may need in the future and which challenges they face when accessing advanced AI infrastructure. These insights will help shape future services around the evolving needs of Europe’s AI startup ecosystem.

The survey is open until 4 October 2026 and is quick to complete. Compute credits from hessian.AI are available to participating startups on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to availability. Participants can also indicate their interest in further opportunities for technical resources and expert support.

By bringing startup perspectives into the development of these services, the survey helps connect Europe’s advanced AI capabilities with the innovators who can turn them into new applications and solutions. AI startups in Germany and across the EU are invited to share their perspective.
